Health tips for your Kidneys

Can you Avoid Kidney Stones?

Kidneys are relatively small organs, yet they are of great importance. Hence, one should take serious care of their kidney's health.

Keeping healthy kidneys acquires a healthy lifestyle and some cautious practices.

How to Keep Your Kidneys Healthy?

Preserving kidney health is something you should consider daily. That's why we listed down some helpful tips that will help keep your kidney healthy.

Watch your Blood Pressure

High blood pressure is as dangerous for kidneys as it is for the heart. It is necessary to have your blood pressure checked regularly to avoid the risks it may cause to your kidney.

Stay Hydrated, Stay Safe

Drinking at least two litres of water daily is more a must than an option. Sipping plenty of fluids helps your kidneys function well, lowers your risk of chronic kidney disease, and helps clear sodium and toxins from your kidneys.

Also, people who have had kidney stones should drink an extra amount of water to help avoid stone deposits in the future.

Easy on the OTC Pills

If you are used to taking over-the-counter (OTC) pain relievers, you may be damaging your kidney. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) can damage your kidneys if you take them regularly for constant pain, chronic headaches, or arthritis.

So if you use these medicines daily or regularly, you need to consult a doctor about the number of pills you take and see how to fix the problem causing you to take them in the first place.

Have Your Kidney Function Checked

It is a good idea to have regular kidney function tests to be aware of the health state of your kidney to detect any risk factors.
